The Mt. Rainier Railroad and Logging Museum Experience

The distinct noise of a steam whistle can be heard as the train travels near and far into the distance of the forest just south of Mount Rainier. And when the train stops at the logging museum – admission included with your train ticket – you’ll be treated to the most comprehensive collection of steam locomotives in North America! You’re sure to feel like you’ve stepped back in time during a trip to the Mt. Rainier Railroad and Logging Museum.

To make the most of the train experience, we recommend you sit back, relax, turn your phone on Airplane mode (or can we call it Steam Train mode?) and take in the sights and sounds of the misty forest as we roll along the foothills of Mount Rainier. All we might ask is that you snap a photo or two of your happy faces and share with us so we know we’re doing our job right! (Share on Instagram with #visitMRRR)

Besides our regular excursions, we host a variety of special event trains throughout the year, such as the Washington Wine Express (leave the kids with Grandma!) and the Polar Express (a magical ride for the whole family!). See all of our upcoming special event trains here.
